Meet Geri

Hi, I’m Geri Cassady-Benson, Founder of New Village Coaching. As early as I can remember, I have always had a desire to help and support those around me. In addressing and overcoming challenges of my own, I consistently interacted with people where light conversations got deep and, interestingly enough, it seemed as if I had just overcome the very things others were facing. In these instances, I found myself providing guidance and perspectives that helped the person navigate their situation in a way they had not previously considered. After enough happenstances of such, I knew my calling was to help…but how would that look, where would I start?

I would like to say I jumped right into position; yet in reality, I took my time, completed my own personal work and did what was necessary to put myself into position to give my all before diving in. My journey started in residential property management where I spent 12 years in roles ranging from leasing consultant to property manager; in addition to being an “unofficial counselor” to some of my residents and team members until I decided to get a Master’s degree in Community Counseling. Upon completing my degree, I worked as a clinical therapist and intake coordinator with a community agency and as a therapist for a private practice.

To date, I still work as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. I am a wife and a bonus mom to 2 amazing children. My family and I also have a community of cats that we tend to daily that don’t know their names…lol! I love nature and like to think I have a green thumb. I believe heavily in protecting your energy! Amongst my family/friends (who are my village) I am said to be naturally funny, assertive, unbiased, and I pay attention to detail. I have dedicated my life to personal growth and wish to continue supporting others on their journey.

I hope this gives you some insight into who I am. Again, my passion is to help and I know that your breakthrough is over the horizon. It has been said that it takes a village; however, I say sometimes it takes a New Village!! (Pun intended ☺)! I hope to see you soon so I can help you Learn, Feel, and Rebuild your life
